Grump’s Gone

Pretty hard to imagine the world without the Internet, but it hasn’t been around all that long in the whole big timeline. It hasn’t been a force for more than twenty years. But it has legacies. “You’ve Got Mail.” It was a thing for a long while in the beginning of the new world, they even made it into a movie. And how about, “YAHOOooo!” It wouldn’t even be a thing if it wasn’t for the Internet and its place there.

And Grumpy Cat. She died and she lived on the Internet. She made the Internet in her own way, shaped it for use as a visual tool to interaction between people. She was only seven years old when she died, yet she made her owners big bucks and fame. She had followers from all over the world and she told us all we really need to know about…well, everything.

She came to light back when Facebook only had a billion or so users and Twitter only about a hundred and fifty million. Infancy. And she was an instant hit! She was everywhere, and especially in Little Johnny’s mom’s basement game room where he made all those memes and posted them to share with every person on-line. She is still relevant and the first singular animal superstar to be borned and raised up on the Internet. Lassie and Rin Tin Tin famous times lots!

Goodbye Tardar Sauce, (Grumpy Cat’s given name). You will be missed. You will also be more famous than…well…the Beatles and that other fella.
